District 6-6A is set to be a battleground once again in 2025. With a blend of traditional powerhouses and emerging programs, this district features physical football, high-scoring offenses, and exceptional talent. From playoff-tested teams to eager underdogs looking to prove themselves, every week promises exciting moments and high stakes. As we look ahead to the 2025 Texas high school football season, here’s what to expect from one of the state’s most unpredictable and thrilling districts.

Allen

2024 Recap: The Allen Eagles coasted through the 2024 season, finishing with an impressive 13-1 overall record and a flawless 8-0 run in district play to claim the District 5-6A title. Dominant at home (7-0) and equally effective on the road (6-0), the Eagles combined elite-level execution with a high-powered offense that put up 603 points over the season, while holding opponents to just 177. With a .929 winning percentage, Allen reasserted itself as a powerhouse in Texas high school football, proving they’re once again a legitimate state title contender.

McKinney

2024 Recap: The McKinney Lions wrapped up their 2024 campaign with a 6-5 overall record and a respectable 5-3 finish in district play, securing 4th place in one of the state’s most competitive districts. With a nearly even split at home (3-2) and on the road (3-2), the Lions showed consistency but struggled to gain momentum down the stretch, ending the season on a two-game skid. Scoring 295 points while allowing 264, McKinney stayed competitive in most matchups and will look to build on this solid foundation heading into 2025.

McKinney Boyd

2024 Recap: The McKinney Boyd Broncos faced a challenging 2024 season, finishing with a 3-7 overall record and a 2-6 mark in district play, placing them 7th in a tough field. Despite their struggles, the Broncos showed flashes of promise, closing out the year on a win and putting up 282 total points across the season. Defensively, however, they gave up 343 points, indicating room for growth. With a 2-3 record at home and 1-4 on the road, the foundation is there—but the Broncos will need a more consistent effort to bounce back in 2025.

Plano

2024 Recap: The Plano Wildcats delivered a balanced 2024 season, finishing 5-5 overall and 4-4 in district play, landing them in 5th place in the standings. Plano proved competitive week in and week out, with a nearly even split of points scored (296) versus points allowed (277). The Wildcats held a slight edge at home (3-2) but struggled to find the same success on the road (2-3). With a .500 win percentage and a gritty district performance, Plano will look to turn the corner and contend in 2025.

Plano East

The Panthers displayed balance on both sides of the ball, scoring 285 points while allowing 276, and maintained identical home and away records at 3-2. Despite ending the year on a three-game skid, Plano East showed enough competitive fire throughout the season to remain a program to watch heading into 2025.

Plano West

2024 Recap: The 2024 season was a tough one for the Plano West Wolves, who finished 0-10 overall and 0-8 in district play. Despite their best efforts, the Wolves struggled to find rhythm on both sides of the ball, scoring just 135 points while giving up 396. With an 0-5 mark both at home and on the road, Plano West will need to regroup and focus on development moving into 2025. The foundation will be built through growth, experience, and a fresh start.

Princeton

2024 Recap: The 2024 season proved to be a challenging one for the Princeton Panthers, who ended with a 2-8 overall record and 1-7 in district play, placing 8th. The Panthers struggled defensively, giving up 521 points while scoring 324 of their own, despite showing flashes of offensive potential. Princeton secured both of their wins at home (2-3), but went winless on the road (0-5). With a young roster and valuable experience gained, the Panthers now look ahead to 2025 with an eye on growth and improvement.

Prosper

2024 Recap: The Prosper Eagles put together another strong campaign in 2024, finishing with an 8-3 overall record and a dominant 7-1 mark in district play, earning them 2nd place in one of Texas’ toughest 6A districts. With an undefeated 5-0 home record and 455 points scored, Prosper showcased a high-powered offense complemented by a disciplined defense that allowed just 232 points. Their only district loss didn’t overshadow an otherwise impressive season, and the Eagles remain a major playoff threat heading into 2025.

Prosper Rock Hill

2024 Recap: The Rock Hill Blue Hawks battled their way to a 6-5 overall record in 2024, going 5-3 in district play to claim 3rd place in a highly competitive race. Rock Hill was especially tough at home with a 4-1 record, showing grit and resilience throughout the season. The offense tallied 225 points while the defense allowed 267—highlighting close matchups across the board. With a winning season under their belt, the Blue Hawks have momentum to build on for 2025.

District Prediction Winner: Allen Eagles

With a 13-1 overall record and a perfect 8-0 district finish in 2024, the Allen Eagles are the top contender to win the district again in 2025. They dominated both sides of the ball, scoring over 600 points while giving up just 177. Allen’s depth, coaching, and consistent performance year after year give them the edge over talented challengers like Prosper.
