Here are the players that impressed me the most from last weeks first games of the Texas High School football season. This are only a few players from the games that I watched. Please let me know if you had a good performance from week one and or would like to nominate anyone, reach out to my X dms.

Carter Morgan, 2028, WR/QB, Guyer, 6-3 / 185
An athletic playmaker, Carter is a quarterback who can also play wide receiver. He showcased his speed and athleticism in last week’s game against Aledo, helping his team score points in a hard-fought match. College coaches should keep an eye on this talented young recruit, who could make a name for himself this season and potentially become QB1 for Guyer in the future.
Coaches: @DentonGuyer_FB ‘28 WR/ATH @CarterMorgan_TX is going to be a name to know for years to come. ??#txhsfb | @RallyPrepsTX (?Texan Live) pic.twitter.com/n7YqvUfaXx

Cooper Cyphers , Edge , Aledo , 6-2 / 230
Cyphers really impressed me with his explosion off the ball and his ability to get to the quarterback. A recruit who is flying under the radar but could have a breakout season in 2025. Cooper is ranked within our top 25 edge rushers in the class of 2026 and for good reason. He plays well against both the run and pass and can dominate blockers.
Chalk up a sack for @coopercyphers ?#txhsfb @RecruitAledo | @RallyPrepsTX pic.twitter.com/SVm4Hl8LAS

Braden Baker, QB, Cy Ranch, 6-4 / 170
Branden is undoubtedly an elite quarterback in the class of 2027 and a top-tier player who made impressive plays and throws in last week’s game against Tompkins. He can throw dimes and drop the ball perfectly into his receivers’ hands. He currently has four Division I offers and could soon be considered a three- to four-star prospect. His size and arm talent speak for themselves.

Blake Hamilton, WR, Tompkins, 5-9 / 160
Blake is a three-star athlete who showcased his speed and agility last week with a long run to the end zone and demonstrated that he can dominate on Friday nights. Has 12 Division I offers and we suspect more will come this season for this senior recruit in his final campaign.

Kaden Winkfield , RB , Aledo , 5-11 / 190
Kaden impressed last week with his ability to evade defenders and reach the end zone. He has the speed and athleticism to run between the tackles, outpace defenders, and the lateral agility to support his skills. He is an impressive running back with 10 offers who is still uncommitted.
Heck of a run here for @kaden_winkfield for six.#txhsfb @RecruitAledo | @RallyPrepsTX pic.twitter.com/QWddqe7Vqf

Kash Schwab , RB , Bridgeland , 5-10 / 180
Kash impressed last Friday night with some electric plays. He’s a one-cut back who can burn defenders to the end zone once he gets into the open field. A 2027 recruit, he’s a player college coaches should keep an eye on, as he has the film to back up that statement. In 2024, Kash was named First Team All District 16-6A, rushing for over 1,600 yards and averaging 9.7 yards per carry. This season could be a breakout one for Schwab, who already holds one Division I offer from Texas State.
