The Texas High School senior class is filled with impressive talent, showcasing young athletes ready to make their mark. As spring games and football activities have officially begun for many teams across the Lone Star State, marking an exciting time for players and fans alike.

Here are the top Texas High School football rankings, specifically highlighting the class of 2026 edge recruits, showcasing the skills and abilities of these promising young athletes poised to excel on the field.

Top Texas High School 2026 Edge Rushers

#1. Kevin Ford Jr., Edge, Duncanville, 6-3 / 245

Duncanville has long been a Texas High School powerhouse as well as a national one. Specifically for producing top teir college and NFL talented football players alike. Some could say the Panthers have been edge or linebacker “U” for producing extremelly talented players that go on to be highly recruited and preform well at the college level like Colin Simmons in previous years who is now a Texas Longhorns star and projected early round draft pick in the year or years ahead. We have two players who cracked our top five and earned the top two spots among the best edge rushers in the state of Texas for the class of 2026. Kevin Ford Jr. is a highly rated and recruit prospect coming off the edge with 38 total Division I offers from the top programs across the country like Oklahoma, Auburn, USC, and Alabama to name a few and that seem to be high on Fords list of top schools, programs where he will be taking visits too. Ford is a lenghty athletic defender and a mence off the edge. He is a quarterbacks nightmare and can get home to rack up sacks in the blink of an eye. With his explosiveness, athleticism and talent being just a couple reasons why many programs would like for Ford to come be apart of their program.

#2. Landon Barnes , Edge , Duncanville , 6-3.5 / 220

The oppisite side of Kevin Ford Jr .is Landon Barnes, and the two combined on the same team make for a offenses headache in trying to contain and block both. Barnes recruitment has just been as good as Fords with total scholarship offers currently standing at 32 division I offers from schools that seem to be at the top of his list like Ohio State, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Washington. With a lenghty athletic frame and long arms, Barnes can rush off the edge and beat blockers with his pure strenght, bull rush, or speed alone. Some might have a strong argument that Landon could go onto the next level and see early playing time as a freshmen and make an impact on the field right away.

#3. Kosi Okpala, Edge, Mayde Creek, 6-2 / 240

Okpala can standup as an outside linebacker off the edge or rush with his hand in the ground or drop back in coverage and cover receivers. He is a dominate against both the run and pass game, and can beat blockers quickly with his hand moves or explosive speed, low leverage, and strenght. Earning 32 Division I offers from top college football programs like the Texas Longhorns, Baylor, Houston, and Penn State is no easy task, but Kosi has earned the attention of many alike.

Many of the top edge rushers have not committed as of yet and will be a big story when they do decide to commit after taking visits to their top schools this summer. As the fall season aproaches, its no doubt that many of the athletes that have eanred their way on our list of rankings will be leaders on the feild and on stat sheets.
