Evaluation & Scouting Report
Taboris is a well-balanced defensive back who excels against both the pass and the run. He is an average-sized cornerback with proficient technique and footwork. He has a smooth backpedal, can trail wide receivers, and stays close to their hips. He does well at getting his head around to locate the football, making plays on the ball with pass breakups; however, I would like to see more interceptions next season.
Taboris is very physical in his routes with receivers and has the potential to be a jammer DB, knocking WRs off their routes and fighting for good position to make plays on the ball. He is a solid open-field tackler who stops runs from progressing and can track down ball carriers. I would like to see a more physical nature in his tackling, as he could really lay out ball carriers to impress college coaches further.
He can play press coverage or float as a cornerback, and he can be left on an island to make plays. With further development of his technique and play style, Taboris could become a Division I recruit. Minor adjustments to his game could help him make a name for himself this season, and his skills could translate to the next level. His speed and agility are proficient, but there is still room for improvement. Taboris’s awareness of the field and his ability to turn and locate the ball while trailing receivers for pass breakups are good, but they can still be enhanced.
