Marion has an impressive frame for a defensive back at 6-foot-2 with long arms. He has huge potential as a jammer defensive back; with further improvement and refinement of his technique, he could effectively knock and jam receivers off their routes. His speed and agility are proficient, allowing him to run stride for stride with wide receivers downfield and break quickly to the ball to disrupt plays. However, his footwork and technique as a cornerback need significant improvement. I would like to see Marion focus on developing a good bend as a corner back, achieving a smoother backpedal, and transitioning more fluidly when flipping his hips to run with wideouts. He also needs to play the ball more instead of just focusing on the receiver, getting his hands in between the ball to break up passes. Marion does well tackling in space and the open field. He has the height, size, and ability; he just needs to enhance his skill set to bring it all together.
Footwork and technique as a cornerback need significant improvement. Marion does well tackling in space and the open field; however, his physicality and mean streak in tackling and shedding blocks can improve dramatically. There are too many route plays on film, and if Marion wants to advance to the next level, he needs to demonstrate that he can dominate opponents and make plays while also improving his overall technique. He has the height, size, and ability; he just needs to enhance his skill set to bring it all together. Holds one division I offer from Alabama State.
