Argyle has long been one of the top powerhouse programs in the state of Texas for producing top their talented high school football players. Many players make names for themselves and propel their recruitment to go onto be recruited by some of the top Division I football programs across the country.
One player who has done exactly that is Argyle’s class of 2026 tight end, Braden Batch. Braden is a 6-foot-5, 230-lbs tight end, and until this year, not many knew his name.
Braden is a multi-sport student-athlete with a 4.0 GPA who competes in basketball, wrestling, as well as of course football. Typically, for a top-tier program like Argyle. Athletes have to wait their turn before ever touching the field because of the talent in front of them and the competition from their upperclassmen peers. Braden made his name early on for the Eagles, impressing many, and has been on varsity since his sophomore year, with the film to back it up.
At the end of last season, Braden had only three Division I offers, respectively from programs like the University of North Texas, UTEP, and Tulsa. After a terrific junior season, that all changed.
As a 6-foot-5 tight end, Braden checks off all of the boxes coming off the bus, he looks like a prototypical tight end that Division I programs love, and he can play too. Braden can block on the line of scrimmage and out in space with the ability to put defenders in the dirt, pancaking them with his low center of gravity, size, and strength combined. As a well-balanced tight end, Bach can not only block but catch the football as well.
As a route runner, Braden can cut up the field, and come up with contested catches. He makes for a quarterbacks best friend with a large catch radius, and one that can get open in the open field or in the endzone.

What makes tight ends special is their ability to be both a contributor blocking in the run game and a threat in the passing game. This makes defenses have to account for both their abilities, and the chance of them being a decoy as a blocker, then slipping out wide to catch a pass and be off to the races towards the endzone. Braden has showcased the ability to do both, blocking and catching, and there is no doubt that his ability will only improve as time goes on and at the next level.
The springtime of this year, around March is when Bach’s recruitment really started to heat up and take off. Earning offers from programs like Pitt, Tulane, Memphis, Tulane, and others. Now as of writing this post, Braden began the year with three offers and that number has exploded to 22 Division I offers.
With scheduled official visits set to take place this summer with Kansas and Georgia Tech, Braden will have a packed schedule and a decision to make on where he will take his talents soon. The date has been set already for Braden narrowing down his choice of some of the top college football programs in the country on May 20th.

Q&A With Argyle’s 2026 TE Braden Bach
First off I want to make sure that everyone knows that I wouldn’t have these opportunities with Jesus Christ my lord and savior! God has blessed me and put me in an amazing situation. I can’t do what I do without him!
How has your recruiting experience been from start to right now?
My recruiting experience has been very cool. It started a little slow and under the radar but I’ve made a lot of progress since 10th grade. It’s been an amazing journey and awesome to see how fast things have picked up for me and I’m thankful for all the opportunities I’ve been blessed with.
What’s been the toughest part of your journey?
The toughest part of the journey is working as hard as you can early on with nothing to show for it. Getting up and grinding every day with no offers, no opportunities, and no media. That’s when it’s hard. But to get to where I’m at right now it takes a mentality that’s willing to keep going with unguaranteed success. In my opinion, that is THE hardest part of it.
How do you feel about the big reveal day coming up, releasing your top schools?
I’m excited about releasing my top schools and getting things narrowed down. It’s been a fun process, but I’m excited to see where I get to take my talents for the next years to come!
