The 2025 Texas high school football season is weeks away. These emerging talents have demonstrated moments of excellence on film and may transition from hopeful prospects to well-known figures. Today, we analyze the class of 2026 wide receivers who possess the skills, talent, and chance to achieve a genuine breakout year.
Brodie Clark , WR , Azle Christian , 5-9 / 150
Brodie is a highly productive player who excelled over the last two seasons for Azle. His career stats for the 2023 and 2024 seasons include 1,184 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns, along with an impressive 1,651 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns. Brodie has the potential to boost his recruiting stock this season with his athleticism and ability to play on both sides of the field.
Aiden Mackey , WR , Azle , 5-10 / 155
Aiden is an explosive player who can challenge defenses at a moment’s notice. He is a vertical threat with the speed and agility to get past corners in the blink of an eye. We believe Mackey can have a breakout season and boost his recruiting stock.
Christian Mendoza , WR , Springtown , 5-10 / 170
Christian has elite route-running footwork, allowing him to navigate the field and stop on a dime. He could pose a challenge for defenses this season and make a name for himself, attracting more attention from college football programs and increasing his chances of receiving offers.
Jayden Riley , WR , Atlanta , 5-7 / 165
Jayden is a Division I caliber athlete with offers from UTSA, UTEP, and Texas State. In 2024, he recorded 52 receptions for 921 yards and 13 touchdowns (according to his Hudl). He can line up all over the field on special teams, offense, or defense. On offense, he can operate out of the wildcat or line up at wide receiver, burning everyone on his way to the end zone. His athleticism, speed, and agility set him apart from others and allow him to dominate on Friday nights.
Mason Williams, WR, Daingerfield, 6-3 / 175
Mason has great size and ability at 6-foot-3 and is listed as a three-star athlete on 247Sports. UTSA, Miami, and Sacramento State have all offered Mason, and we believe he can continue to raise his recruiting stock this season in 2025. He is a vertical threat who consistently beats defenses back as a mismatch nightmare.
Dacorian Johnson , WR , Timpson , 5-11 / 170
North Texas and UTSA have both offered Johnson so far, and he could be one of the most talented and fastest wide receivers on this list who is flying under the radar—though possibly not for long. This fall, Johnson could significantly boost his recruiting stock and become a nationally recognized name in the recruiting landscape.
Preston Cloud , WR , Grand Oaks , 6-1 / 180
Arizona State, Montana State, and Sacramento State have all offered Cloud. He is a hands catcher who can secure passes and pluck the football out of the sky over defensive backs, win 50/50 balls, and make plays all over the field. Keep an eye on Preston this season; he could undoubtedly become one of the breakout names and land on many college football recruiting boards.
Jaylen Moore , WR , South Oak Cliff , 5-11 / 150
Moore is a talented Division I wide receiver recruit who has already attracted attention from various programs. Arizona State, Incarnate Word, and Sacramento State have all offered Jaylen so far, and we suspect that more will come for the Bears’ wideout this fall.
With the upcoming season, these 2026 wide receivers have the opportunity to showcase their skills against the top talent in Texas high school football. If they can capitalize on their initial glimpses of promise, they won’t merely be standout players this year—they’ll become names that college recruiters and fans will recall for years ahead. The film speaks for itself, and these recruits are prepared to leave their imprint.
