Jermire Roberts Jr. is an early-maturing 2029 prospect with a college-ready frame and the versatility to line up at outside linebacker, safety, or hybrid overhang roles. At roughly 6’2”, he already carries the length, stride, and physical presence that project well to the next level. He plays with a natural defensive temperament—aggressive downhill, confident in traffic, and willing to finish plays with force. When he triggers, he closes space quickly and shows the ability to knife into the backfield and attack ball carriers behind the line.

In space, Roberts moves well for his size. His ability to redirect, open his hips, and cover ground suggests long-term utility as a matchup piece against tight ends, bigger slots, and perimeter run concepts. His tackling stands out early; he wraps, runs his feet, and consistently finds ways to get ball carriers on the ground.

The next step is refining his technical polish. His footwork, read steps, leverage angles, and block-shed technique are all still developing, as expected for a 2029. With added discipline in his keys and more consistent pad level, he has a legitimate chance to grow into a national-level recruit—his current interest from Texas A&M, Oregon, Iowa, and others is a strong early indicator.
