Scouting Report
Madden Gilbert is an intriguing young quarterback prospect out of Millsap who shows the natural ability to extend plays and make things happen when the pocket breaks down. At 6-0, 160, he’s got average size for his age and position, but what stands out most is his dual-threat skill set. He can evade defenders in space, showing shiftiness and creativity as a runner, while also keeping his eyes downfield to deliver throws under duress. That ability to remain calm in the pocket while pressure collapses is an early sign of maturity in his game.
As a passer, Gilbert flashes good arm strength, capable of pushing the ball 45+ yards downfield with enough velocity to hit receivers in stride. His ball placement is a strength, often putting throws in spots where only his receivers can make a play on the ball. To elevate his game further, he’ll need to sharpen his footwork and clean up mechanical inconsistencies, as those habits will directly impact accuracy and consistency against better defenses. Physically, he’s still developing and could add size and strength over the next few years, which will only raise his recruiting ceiling. Gilbert is a name to watch as he enters varsity play.
