Smith is a high-ceiling, Division I–caliber quarterback with a prototype frame and a well-rounded skill set that shows up consistently on film. At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, he looks the part physically and plays with confidence from the pocket. He operates a clean three-step drop with a quick, efficient release and shows sound footwork and throwing mechanics. Smith delivers the football with excellent timing, particularly on vertical concepts, where he throws a true moon ball and consistently hits receivers in stride 50+ yards downfield. As a dual-threat, Smith brings legitimate breakaway speed and agility, extending plays and stressing defenses when protection breaks down. He throws well on the move and shows poise stepping up against pressure, maintaining accuracy and velocity at all three levels of the field. His arm talent allows him to make every required throw, and his junior production—over 2,000 yards, 20 touchdowns, and a 63% completion rate—backs up the tape.
Areas for growth are minor but important. Velocity and placement on deep out-breaking routes can tighten up, and at times he will force throws into double coverage rather than working to a checkdown. Overall, Smith is a polished, dominant high school quarterback with multiple Division I offers and the upside to compete for early playing time at the next level.
