Scouting Report

McCullar brings a multi-dimensional ability to the field as a slot receiver and all-purpose athlete who can be utilized in many different ways on offensive and special teams. At 5-11, 160, he fits the prototype of a quick-twitch inside weapon capable of creating mismatches in space. He flashes legitimate vertical speed that lets him get over the top of defensive backs quickly, along with solid footwork at the line and a smooth stride that allows him to separate against man coverage. Shows confidence catching through contact and the instincts to make defenders miss once the ball is in his hands. There’s definite potential here for a dynamic yards-after-catch weapon who can also contribute on special teams and gadget plays.

Needs refinement is in his initial burst and agility off the line — he must fire out with more explosion and consistency. Improving his route tree depth and ability to sink hips and stop on a dime will help him become a more complete receiver. Catching the football consistently with his hands instead of his body and polishing his open-field finishing ability are key developmental goals. As his strength, speed, and polish improve, he could emerge as a high-ceiling slot prospect in Texas’ 2027 class. Projection: Division I FBS to FCS. Another year of High School ball and improvement will do him well.
