While it’s heating up outside, some Texas high school football prospects’ recruitment is also heating up and taking off. Today, we will highlight some of the standout wide receivers who had impressive seasons in 2024 and are now seeing their recruitment skyrocket. With their recruiting stock on the rise, here are some of the top edge recruits to know this fall.

Brody Knowles, WR, Southlake Carroll, 6-4 / 190
Knowles’ recruiting has exploded this year in 2025, with most of his offers coming in the spring from Oklahoma State (May 19th), Kansas (Apr. 25th), West Virginia (Apr. 22nd), Oklahoma (Mar. 8th), and UNT Mean Green (Feb. 11th). Recruiting experts believe Knowles is close to deciding where he will play at the next level, with the Sooners and the TCU Horned Frogs at the top of his list. Brody is a strong No. 1 outside wide receiver and a red zone threat, creating mismatches for most cornerbacks. With crisp route running and a large catch radius, it’s no wonder Knowles has raised his recruiting stock and had a breakout season in 2024. Notably, his brother, Graham Knowles, is a quarterback for Georgia Tech.

Braylon Lane, WR, C.E. King, 6-2 / 185
Braylon exploded onto the recruiting scene after this spring with most of his Division I offers coming in the month of May from UTEP, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Texas A&M, and Texas State. He is a lengthy wide receiver with long arms and legs and can cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time with his burst of speed and acceleration. Lane looks light on his feet for how big he is, and he can stop on a dime and contort his body to make some acrobatic catches. It’s no wonder that many schools have noticed his talents and are adding him to their recruiting boards as a top wide receiver prospect they want in their respective program.
Blake Gunter, WR, Southlake Carroll, 6-2 / 180
In 2024, Gunter put up some eye-popping numbers being a workhorse wide receiver who racked up 759 yards receiving, 8 touchdowns, with 48 receptions. A sure-handed receiver who saw his recruiting stock surge right at the beginning of the year in 2025, with offers coming in hot in the month of January from the Pitt Panthers, Tulane, Arkansas State, and UTSA. All within a matter of days.
Zion Harness, WR, Lake Belton, 5-11 / 165
Zion has exploded onto the recruiting scene this year with all of his offers coming in 2025 from Ole Miss, Arkansas, Pitt, New Mexico, and Texas Tech. We suspect that the momentum of his recruiting to continue rising into the fall.

Landon Williams, WR, Katy Jordan, 6-2 / 195
Memphis, Texas Tech, UTEP, and UTSA have all offered Williams within the last thirty days, raising his recruiting stock through the roof in a short amount of time. Landon can rack up yards after the catch and can make defenders miss in the open field with lethal moves. Also, a vertical threat who can with the 50/50 ball and be a quarterback’s best friend and security blanket when his team needs him the most. Whether its first downs or touchdowns, Williams can contribute.
