The central Texas area and the Lone Star State produce some of the nation’s very best high school prospects. Today we have highlighted a few of Central Texas’s top rising wide receiver prospects that college universities are actively recruiting and should know about.
Davis McCray , WR , Cornerstone Christian , 6-2 / 190
San Antonio’s own Davis McCray from Cornerstone Christian may very well be one of the top wide receiver prospects in the central Texas area. McCray has earned thirteen Division I offers from schools like Kentucky, Arkansas State, North Texas, and Miami. Davis has a lengthy athletic frame, and with his catch radius, makes for a great target. A solid number one outside receiver who has the vertical speed to take catches all the way into the endzone and get over top of corners quickly.
Davion Peters , WR , Lake Belton , 5-11 / 165
Davion is currently a three-star rated prospect by 247sports, and has earned thirteen Division I offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College and others. Davion has blazing elite speed and can rack up yards after the catch and knows how to make defenders miss in the open field with some nasty moves, shaking defenders seemingly out of their cleats. Look for Peters to have continued success this fall.
Henry Harris , WR , San Marcos , 6-2 / 160

Another three star prospect in Harris with multiple Division I offers (8 total) from schools like Baylor, Cal, Houston and others. At nearly 6-foot-3, Harris is a mismatch nightmare for smaller corners trying to guard him on the outside. He shows patience, letting routes develop in his favor, and can get open to be a red-zone threat at any moment.
Cooper Reid , WR , Dripping Springs , 6-3 / 180

Arizona State Sun Devils commit Cooper Reid is a tall, lengthy, highly rated, and recruited wide out for Dripping Springs. A school that is consistent in producing top teir talented national recruiting prospects for college football programs. With a tall and lengthy athletic frame and long arms as Reids plus his speed and agility its tough for defenses to bring down Cooper who can not only get open with crisp route running skills but burn defenders on his way into the endzone. A home run threat anytime he touches the field. There is no doubt that programs will continue to recruit Reid and that he will continue to garner much attention and more offers from Division I programs across the country.
Javarlyn Smith , WR , LBJ , 5-9 / 150

One receiver from the central Texas area flying under the radar at the moment is Javarlyn Smith from LBJ, most likely because of his lack of height, not play skills. Currently holds two offers from Jacksonville State and McPherson.
